Each day we awake begins another day of God’s blessings. We sometimes take life and the fact that we wake up as something that ordinarily should happen and is expected each morning. But, actually, it truly is indeed a blessing to be able to enjoy another day that our heavenly father has blessed us with. That’s the first blessing.
We open our eyes and we see the bright of the day. We squint and look at the clock just to see if we have another few minutes to enjoy the precious time of taking a snooze. At that moment we don’t even realize that we have been granted another opportunity to take in the joy of just waking up with the ability to get up out of our beds, take a long stretch, stand up without difficulty, say hello to our partners, our children, walk by ourselves to the bathroom and without even a thought of thankfulness that we have done these things, God still does it and begins a cycle implemented as part of our daily lives.
We then get ready to go to our jobs, to school, and other places that we frequent not even concerned about the precious moment in time of waking to another day. Oh, the joy that we forfeit ignoring and not realizing how blessed we are to frequent the day. We prepare our lunches or go out to eat. We gobble our food down rushing to get back to work or to go back to class. There are times when we should just stop and enjoy the blowing of the wind, the beauty of the day, the dogs barking, the blow of the whistle from the truck that just passed us by.
We walk down the streets, and we see people, and children playing, and life is going on. Some are walking on their own and we also see those that are in wheelchairs being pushed by loved ones or attendants. Those who are lying on the sidewalks with their tents and bundled up because of the draft in the wind. Those who have no care in this world because they are either hurt in their hearts because of losing their way or they are just tired of living. Oh, the moments that we take for granted, the times that we have not been as thankful as we should be that God has granted us another day of opportunity to not only enjoy the life that he has given us but to also be a help to someone else who has lost their way.
Oh, the joy in living each day……. The day has finally come and the man of our dreams has asked for our hand in marriage. Another day that God has blessed us. This is not just another day, this is a precious day that the man you love with all of your heart has finally popped the question. You are so happy and want to share this day with all your friends and family and most of all with God because He has blessed you yet with another day.
Oh, the joy in living each day……. You wake up and you are not feeling your best. You run to the bathroom and then realize something may be up because this is the second or third time this has happened. You have been waiting for a special blessing from the Lord and you now realize that this may be the day. You test and see that the line on the stick is positive this time and you share this wonderful blessing with your husband and family and friends. Oh, what a joyous moment in time.
Oh, the joy in living each day………. We enjoyed moments in the day acknowledging all the wonderful aspects of life. Oh, how much we take for granted and it beacons us to think and then say “Thank You Lord” for the many blessings that we sometimes take for granted.
